Organized Marine Debris in Alaska workshop, held in collaboration with Alaska Forum on the Environment in February 2008. Coordinating meetings for the North Aleutian Basin Energy-Fisheries Initiative, with the next meetings in Anchorage and Kodiak, both in March 2008. Coordinating the 25th Lowell Wakefield Fisheries Symposium on Crabs, and the 26th Wakefield Symposium on ecosystems approaches to fisheries management.

Coordinating ASG support for the Marine Biology module of the Alaska Summer Research Academy, assisting with logistics for the 2008 National Ocean Sciences Bowl national finals competition in Seward, and assisting with the Seas and Rivers Week Project.

Selected awards and accomplishments

Hold the Alaska Dog Mushers Association 8-dog, 12-mile track record (set in 1998). Consistent wins in equestrian dressage and hunter competitions; year-end high point and show championships. Sailed both coasts of Florida and the Okeechobee Waterway in a 23-foot Rob Roy yawl rig, double-ended sailboat.

What I do when not at Sea Grant

My husband, Robert, and I built three houses and continue to work on our current home. I teach riding lessons and train horses, including our three horses. We run our retired racing sled dogs recreationally. I like to garden and have recently taken up bird watching.
