Year of expected graduation: 2005

Major professor: Dr. Gordon Kruse

Briefly describe your graduate project: My project (RR/02-02) involves prediction of spawning timing, location, and migration dynamics of the Pacific herring (Clupea pallasii) population in northern Bristol Bay by using various environmental/oceanographic variables.

Why did you choose UAF? Extension of my work with UAF project as a research assistant.

Favorite pastimes and hobbies: I am happy anytime doing anything that does not require my limited IQ.

Most interesting educational experience so far: Herring is more than just bait and their abundance more than a number in a table.

Future plans: To graduate, then work in the biology/oceanography field in relation to a cultural study perspective in Alaska. I eventually hope to be involved in instructing youth in Japan.
