Hometown: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Degree seeking: Ph.D., Fisheries Management, Juneau

Year of expected graduation: 2005

Major professor: Dr. Milo Adkison

Previous university: Simon Fraser University

Previous major: M.S., Natural Resource Management

Briefly describe your graduate project: Application of Bayesian statistics and decision analysis to better determine appropriate escapement goals for Pacific salmon populations (R/31-07).

Why did you choose UAF? The school has a good reputation, and I had worked with Dr. Milo Adkison in the past.

Favorite pastimes and hobbies: Hiking, kayaking, being a part of the Flounders.

Most interesting educational experience so far: Traveling.

Future plans: As a senior consultant/biometrician at S.P. Cramer in Gresham, OR, I've been (1) analyzing trends in abundance and productivity of Middle Columbia steelhead populations (listed as "threatened" by NOAA under the ESA), (2) analyzing a mark-recapture data set for the at-risk Kootenai River burbot population, and (3) assessing relationships between river flows and survival of juvenile salmon of the Yakima River.

In my spare time, I plan to defend and finish my dissertation in spring 2005.
