Workshop Information
Introduction
The Alaskan Crab Enhancement Workshop will be the first to bring together a group of international scientists doing cutting-edge research on cultivation and stock enhancement of crabs and lobsters. In an intensive one-day workshop, these researchers will present their findings through presentations and discussion. This will be an opportunity to exchange information on technology, methodology, and goals of various crab and lobster cultivation and enhancement programs. On the second day, science, management, industry and community representatives will address issues of concern to all sectors of the State of Alaska. Discussion topics may include issues such as stock enhancement, management issues, industry perspective, technical considerations, economic considerations, and community perspectives. Case studies on Chesapeake Bay blue crabs and Maine lobsters will be followed by panels and discussion with questions from the audience. Day three will be a Kodiak ComFish Seminar with a keynote presentation, summary presentations, and a public forum.
Days one and two will be held at Kodiak College. Day three will be at the Kodiak High School. This web site will provide the agenda and online registration. Details will be posted as they become available.
