Understanding Fisheries Management

Description

Because fishery regulations have increased dramatically in recent years, it is increasingly important that fishermen understand the biological basis of regulation and the regulatory process. This book explains how regulations are made and encourages fishermen to get more involved in the process. Jargon used in fisheries management is fully defined, and regional contacts are provided. An analysis of the 1996 Sustainable Fisheries Act is included in the second edition. Published by Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant.
